Nosferatu is the classic German silent film based on Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, starring Max Schreck as the vampire Count Orlok (Dracula) and directed by FW Murnau. The film was, however, made without the sanction of the Stoker estate and all copies of the film were ordered destroyed by court order. Thankfully, some copies escaped that order and so we are able to enjoy it today in the public domain.
