Downloadable Modules
In terms of Dungeons and Dragons® in general, modules (also known as adventures, campaigns, or even campaign modules) are skeleton outlines containing twisting plots, heroic quests, non-player characters (NPCs), crafty villains, hideous monsters, etc. These modules are often used by Dungeon Masters (the game's combination storyteller, organizer and referee) to help them develop encounters and storylines for their players' characters to encounter. In terms of the game Neverwinter Nights, modules are computer files that contain these same sorts of plots, quests, non-player characters (NPCs), villains, monsters, etc. Once loaded into the game, the game engine takes over, using the information within the module file, to bring the module creator's vision to life. Neverwinter Nights comes out of the box with one (very large) official campaign module, but using the Aurora Toolset players can create their own...
To install any module file, simply unzip the downloaded file into the /modules/ folder inside of your installed Neverwinter Nights game folder. You can then select the various modules you have installed by choosing, from within the game, the "Other Modules..." menu option.

In cooperation with my friend Kai, this will be a Neverwinter Nights version of the classic TSR D&D module, "Ravenloft." Because of copyright concerns, we may or may not post any further versions of this module, but will use it for our own enjoyment and for learning how to use the Neverwinter Nights "Aurora" toolset to create modules, without having to worry about characters, plot, etc. In it's present state, however, you can at least meet the introductory character (plus a few others) and roam around the lands of Barovia! There is at least one other adaptation of Ravenloft out there, but neither of us was happy with the result and would like to see our vision of this classic module come to life...

Mitrik, capitol city of the nation of Veluna, is a successful culture and trade city situated in the mid-western reaches of the Flanaess on the world of Oerth. This module will attempt to simulate important portions and features of that city. It will not necessarily be an adventure module, but will be a place to buy, trade and sell items, speak with other characters, etc. Perhaps eventually I'll add in some small quests, or even make it into a full blown adventure! It might also be used as a persistant world, or perhaps as part of a larger persistent world.
So far I've built a small market place where vendors of all types will sell their wares, including the beginnings of several special areas, such as Mirddrin Ironbrow's "Red Dragon Inn", the tower of his friend (a rather strange gnome), a fighting arena, and a dwarven temple dedicated to Clangeddin Silverbeard.
