Version 1.4 Release (v1.4.0.18)
This is the most current version of the Character Organizer available.
You might find this software on other sites, but this is where to return to
make sure you have the most recent update.

Features List

Tool to automatically re-sort (rename) all saved character files into chronological order.
This makes finding the most recently saved characters easier.

Tool to automatically archive all BioWare pregenerated characters.

Tool to revert filenames back to the BioWare default numbering scheme.

Tool to select character files you don't need, but want to save, and archive them.
This helps to decrease the clutter on the in-game saved character selection screen.

Tool to change the folder where archived character files are stored.

Tool to select archived character files and delete them to the Recycle Bin.

Tool to open Recycle Bin so that deleted character files can be restored.

Options screen allows Dragonsong's
Leto Character Editor [self extracting installer]
to be used as a helper application.
Once setup, Character Organizer uses Leto to view character statistics,
including name, portrait, classes, levels, hit points, ability scores, etc.
Note: this feature requires Leto version 0.3.0.61 Beta or later.
You can get Leto beta versions, including 0.3.0.61 Beta (a.k.a. "Build 61"), in the Leto Beta Build forums:

If you're not comfortable with Beta versions of software, simply do not use this feature of Character Organizer.

Added Options Screen.

Options Screen now allows you to choose whether or not the Character Organizer
should use the Leto character editor
as a helper application to view character information.
You can get Leto beta versions (v 0.3.0.61 Beta, a.k.a. "Build 61", as of this writing), in the Leto Beta Build forums:

Known Issues with v1.4 Release

Not really a bug, but you MUST use Leto version 0.3.0.61 Beta or later for the "Use Leto..." Options screen feature to work;
earlier versions would very likely cause both Leto and Character Organizer to lock up.
However, a verification routine checks for the proper
version (and existance) of Leto before allowing it to be used by the Character Organizer so this shouldn't be an issue for anyone.
Issues Fixed

Fixed In certain instances, Character Organizer would try to setup Leto even though Leto didn't exist
or the user had not setup Leto as a helper application. This would cause File/Path Not Found type errors.
Future Ideas

Add a Help file and context sensitive help behavior.
There's not much to the program, but a Help might be useful anyway.

Change the coloration of the Menu and other Windows elements to better match the rest
of the application. This is purely aesthetic, so this is WAY low on the priority list.

Allow people to skin the application.
This is purely aesthetic and, quite frankly, rather frivolous,
so this is WAY WAY low on the priority list... on the other hand, EVERYONE ELSE
is doing it, so maybe I'd better, too! :)

Add drag and drop capability for archiving, unarchiving and deleting.
As a first time Visual Basic programmer, I find it bizarre that there's not a
way to just drop in such a file list drag and drop capability into a VB application,
but there does not seem to be. This seems VERY odd to me but oh well...

you may not use this code as a basis for creating your own "Character Organizer".
